Australian String Quartet (ASQ)

I’m proud to lead this eminent national organisation, which I joined as Chair in January 2022. Collaborating with the Board and team of 10, I use my strategy and philanthropy experience to co-lead the Fit for Forty planning process towards ASQ’s 2025 Ruby Jubilee Anniversary.

A Leadership Case Study: Four Winds Bermagui

In 2017,  I was honoured to receive the Creative Partnership Australia's Arts Leadership Award for my work spanning more than 10 years at Four Winds Bermagui. Below I share with you the story of Four Winds, as told at the award presentation by Carrillo Gantner.

Supporting the Next Generation of Leaders

Mentoring is one of the most rewarding parts of my work. I support emerging and established leaders to navigate complexity with clarity, drawing on years of experience in governance, the arts, and regional development. It's a joy to walk alongside people as they grow into their purpose and potential.

Our Community Four-Day Work Week

As a member of the National Advisory Council for Our Community, I worked directly with the Managing Director, Denis Moriarty, to help guide the cultural elements of the organisation’s transition to a Four-Day Work Week.

The Boughen Archives

The State Library of Queensland (SLQ) has taken the Boughen archives of my father, Robert, and mother, Christina, as a permanent collection that reflects the cultural life and practice of two successful musicians in the 20th century.

Other Projects

Four Winds Foundation Board

I’m proud to be a founding figure and current Board member of the Four Winds Foundation, which creates exceptional musical experiences in nature on the Far South Coast of New South Wales. With a long history as Chair and a deep connection to the Bermagui region, I continue to support Four Winds with vision and heart, helping ensure it remains artistically ambitious, community-rooted, and globally engaged.

We are Saber

For seven years, I have worked with the founding Directors, Brad Maiden and Bosco Tan. This has included developing principles for the culture of the company, and conversations regarding team communication. Recent projects of Saber include participation in the refurbishment of the Concert Hall at Sydney Opera House and the ITCC Digital City in Riyadh.

GPex

GPex provides training programs for South Australian GPs. I have been the Executive Coach with CEO, Stephanie Clota, for over six years. This included a period of a challenging merger and the establishment of the CEO’s relationship with a new Chair and Board.

ithree institute UTS

Since Professor Liz Harry became the leader of the ithree institute at University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2016, I worked with Professor Harry and her team on the institute’s strategy agenda and leadership development until 2019.

Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF)

During 2017, I worked with the Institute for Sustainable Futures team to consider various future issues, and in particular, the Institute's Deputy Director, Distinguished Professor Cynthia Mitchell.

Sydney Opera House

I was brought in by Chief Executive Officer, Louise Herron, to work with the Theatre and Events Director, David Claringbold, and his team.

Nestle Australia-Pacific

Established - and was Strategic Facilitator for - Nestle Australia-Pacific’s External Advisory Board.

Ecos Corporation and Greenpeace Japan

Including my Masters of Anthropology on the cultural tension and strategic demands of Greenpeace Japan with the international organisation.

BHP Billiton

In the early 1990’s, bringing together environmental groups with the corporate sector was pioneering work. I was involved in the establishment of the Forum for Corporate Responsibility - the start of leaders from both sectors valuing the power of dialogue and accountability.
